Gore, Atmosphere
& FX
A complete, illustrated guide to modding Devilated — from installing the BepInEx loader to dropping in the all-in-one gore, blood, lighting and particle overhaul and tuning it to taste.
The Install Path
Modding Devilated is two installs and a config pass. Do them in order and you cannot really go wrong — every stop below has its own page with screenshots of exactly what the result should look like.
Requirements
Confirm the right build, find the game folder, understand Mono vs IL2CPP.
Open Part 01Install BepInEx
Drop the loader beside Devilated.exe, run once, confirm the folders generated.
Open Part 02Install the Mod
Place the plugin, launch to write the config, verify every file landed.
Open Part 03Tune the Carnage
Read the config sections and paste a preset — cinematic horror to PSX crunch.
OpenWhat the Overhaul Does
Four big systems, every one of them fully implemented and driven entirely from a single, heavily-documented config file. No in-game menu, no console commands — just edit and play.
Gore & Blood
Every blood burst fans out extra spurts. Drenched, lasting splats far past the vanilla cap, permanent corpses that pile up, and persistent gibs with adjustable launch force.
Lighting & Atmosphere
Scale every torch, lamp and sky light. Strobing muzzle-flash lighting, ambient and fog control, and opt-in Bloom, colour-grade, Beautify and Sharpen overrides.
Particle Scaler
Global multipliers for size, emission, lifetime, speed and particle ceiling — blood mist, sparks, smoke, fire and magic become as thick and chunky as you want.
Texture Controls
Force Point, Bilinear or Trilinear filtering, anisotropic control, mipmap bias and a resolution cap — a crisp clean look or full PSX crunch, your call.
In the Tomb
Devilated is a torch-lit, blood-soaked retro shooter — the perfect canvas. Below, vanilla atmosphere alongside the overhaul running live.
